Bonding Bonding is a cosmetic procedure that can greatly improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, broken,
cracked or stained. It can also be used to close gaps between front teeth, fill small cavities, and protect
exposed tooth roots resulting from gum recession. Bonding usually lasts from three to five years. The procedure: First, the tooth is prepared with an etching solution which allows the bonding material to
adhere to the surface. A composite resin, specially blended to match the color of your tooth, is then applied
and shaped. A special light or chemical process is used to harden the resin. Finally, the bonded tooth is
smoothed and polished, giving it a completely natural look. |
